In 2019 changes to private health insurance removed some natural therapies from their plans. Naturopathy being one of them. These changes did not impact the ability to keep claiming rebates for Remedial Massage.

Not all funds provide rebates for remedial massage so you may need to check with your health fund provider to find out if you can claim these services.
There are over 30 different funds and they all offer different rebate amounts based on the level of coverage. Some funds offer a percentage up to a certain limit and others a set amount per treatment, while others a mixed bag with osteopathy, physiotherapy etc.
It is definitely worth seeing if you can claim this service, so the best way to find out is to call the member services team of your insurer and ask them about your current package.
If covered, you will be able to claim manually using a natuRemedies receipt issued with the Massage & Myotherapy Association practitioner code or individual provider numbers from BUPA, Medibank Private & AHM.
